1.Big Sur with Chardonnay

Flavor Profile: Big Sur is a rich and buttery cheese, full of complexity. Its creamy texture and subtle nutty flavor are enhanced when paired with a light wine.

Pairing Recommendation: Opt for a chilled, lightly oaked Chardonnay. The acidity cuts through the richness of the cheese, allowing the flavors to shine without overwhelming your palate. It’s the perfect pairing for an elegant evening.

2.Ash Chèvre (Vegan) with Sauvignon Blanc

Flavor Profile: This soft and tangy cheese has a distinctive ashy rind. It brings out the earthy undertones that balance its fresh and bright taste.

Pairing Recommendation: Try pairing this chèvre with a Sauvignon Blanc. The wine’s herbal and citrusy notes complement the tanginess, while the minerality enhances the earthiness of the cheese, creating a well-rounded flavor experience.

3.Fromage Blanc with Rose

Flavor Profile: Light, fresh, and slightly tangy, Fromage Blanc is a versatile cheese that pairs beautifully with fruit-forward flavors.

Pairing Recommendation: Rosé! Its berry notes add a touch of sweetness that contrasts beautifully with the creamy and tangy aspects of the cheese. This pairing brings out a delicate fruitiness in our cheese. This creates a refreshingly balanced bite that’s ideal for any season.

Fall Favorites: Pumpkin Spiced Cookies and Gouda with Pinot Noir

Flavor Profile: Our seasonal pumpkin spiced cookies pair surprisingly well with a firm, nutty Gouda. The gentle spice and sweetness in the cookies enhance the Gouda’s caramel notes.

Pairing Recommendation: For a fall-inspired pairing, try Pinot Noir. Its red fruit flavors make it an excellent match for both the Gouda and cookies. Also creating a smooth yet festive experience for your palate.

Tips for the Perfect

Wine & Cheese Pairing:

  1. Balance is Key: The wine should complement the cheese without overpowering it, and vice versa.

  2. Start Light, Then Go Bold: When sampling multiple pairings, begin with milder cheeses and lighter wines, then move to stronger flavors.

  3. Temperature Matters: Serve wine slightly chilled (but not too cold!) to bring out its flavors. We also recommend you allow your cheeses to come to room temperature before serving.

At Fior Di Latte, our goal is to simplify the cheese buying and tasting experience for our esteemed customers. Through our curated recommendations, we invite you to create your own tasting journey with easy cheese + wine pairings from our shop that you can enjoy in great company and from the comfort of your home.

Whether you’re celebrating a special moment or simply indulging in an evening treat, remember that pairing is all about experimenting and finding new flavors you love! Happy tasting 🧀 🍷
